Training our People, to achieve their personal best.

At Smiths, we offer comprehensive Training Programmes for our people in line with individual’s skills and competency gaps, IDP’s are developed to close the identified gaps. Strategic OD interventions focusing on change management, Leadership development, cultural diversity and emotional intelligence are offered. Further Educational and Training opportunities (practical or theoretical) are offered to those that want to develop themselves. DOJO (includes training in 6S, Kaizen, Muda, safety etc.), Apprenticeship, Skills programmes and Learnerships focusing on critical and scares skills are also provided for our people.

In-service Training
We offer in-service training as we believe that work experience is an important part of the qualifying process. At Smiths, Learners are rotated to different departments for maximum exposure. Once requirements are met, the student may graduate. Following the graduation, if a vacancy arises and performance meets the Smiths standard, top graduates may be offered an opportunity to apply for employment.
